Trump meets privately with lunatic sheriff who wants to throw Deray in Gitmo

Well folks, it’s official.  Trump held a private meeting today with Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, Jr.  The man whose administration recently committed a homicide in their own jail by causing a mentally ill man to die of dehydration sauntered into Trump Tower with his white Stetson upon his head and the Constitution stuck firmly by horseshit to his bootheel.

Sheriff Clarke, a man so incompetent that his own county removed control of a local corrections facility from his jurisdiction, has long been rumored as a short-list pick for a role in the Trump administration.  The lowlights of Clarke’s policy positions include equating Black Lives Matter with ISIS, praising the acquittal of the officers on trial for the death of Freddie Gray, and allowing four deaths in 2016 in the one building he is charged with managing.  He also directed his department to coverup a deputy’s careless driving which broke a woman’s neck and wrongfully charged her with drunk driving.

Not only do Clarke and Trump appear to have fallen off the same branch of the conspiracy-bigot tree, but they also both have a lustful affinity for Twitter, petty vindictiveness, and perving on underage girlsI would suggest, maybe.  We have no idea.

Clarke is the dangerous tool that would be just the perfect soulless and narcissistic wannabe cowboy to implement Trump’s grand ideas of rounding up millions without due process.  In fact, Clarke seems to find the whole concept of habeas corpus and constitutional protections a bit too cumbersome:

”I suggest that our commander in chief ought to utilize Article I, Section 9 and take all of these individuals that are suspected, these ones on the internet spewing jihadi rhetoric… to scoop them up, charge them with treason and, under habeas corpus, detain them indefinitely at Gitmo,” Clarke said in [a Glenn Beck] interview. “We have no idea how many people out there have pledged allegiance or are supporting ISIS, giving aid and comfort, but I would suggest hundreds of thousands, I would suggest maybe a million.

“You take the known terrorists that are here, and you think we’re going to arrest all these people and put them in jails and then sentence them to prison? It’s idiotic. [Take them to] Gitmo and hold them indefinitely under a suspension of habeas corpus. We’re at war. This is a time of war. Bold and aggressive action is needed,”

The man who can barely run a building with 900 employees, who routinely and callously calls for the eradication of First Amendment protections, and who recently allowed a man in his custody to die from homicide by thirst, met today with our President-Elect.  According to the Journal Sentinel, the Milwaukee paper to which Clarke routinely refuses to comment:

“Clarke, dressed in a black suit, red tie and white Stetson for the interview, has been mentioned widely as a potential Trump appointee to head the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, though insiders say he might be open to a policy position in the White House on security matters.”

While Clarke has not commented on the meeting, we can only sit and wait to see if there will need to be a special horse-parking spot drawn up in Washington.
